Thank you for all the lovely feedback! My follower count jumped significantly overnight and there are so many people asking questions and leaving kind notes in my inbox so I’ll answer a bunch of the repeating ones publicly
1. Both Dean and Cas were animated in Flash, though I imported Cas into Photoshop for his light effects.
2. I’m a storyboard supervisor for my day job so these are usually experiments to keep the animation skills going when I’m not really using them. Practice practice practice!
3. I do have plans for a Sam one to finish off the Team Free Will trio, but I’m afraid I’m going to stop there. Sorry!
He and his guests discuss two episodes per week with the intention of completing the whole series from start to finish! It’s aimed at both longtime fans and newcomers to the series so you don’t need to have seen the show to enjoy. In fact, might be even MORE fun to watch along with them!! Lots of fun discussion of the show, the characters, its development, its cultural significance then and now, nineties nostalgia, and the history of evolving fan culture!! As the podast has gained popularity it has opened up doors for him to talk with people involved in the show’s creation (like Dean Haglund!! and Mark Snow!!) and their stories are SO GOOD!!
As a huuuuge X-Files fan and somebody who got their nerdy start reading X-Files fan fiction online back in like 1997, everything about this podcast is THE BEST.
YES YES ALL OF THIS. I normally don’t listen to podcasts about specific fandoms, but this podcast is one of the few that I look forward to every week. Niki and I usually listen together and IM each other throughout the whole thing about new and interesting points the guests or host bring up.
PLUS, they do a good job to not bring up spoilers for future episodes, so if you’re a new fan just getting into the show or an old-timer like me, it’s a great listen!
So here’s something fun I was hoping some people on here might wanna take part in…
I was talking to jigglykat in the car today about how quickly the summer’s going by and it made me wonder how people imagine the year in their head, if they do at all. I think about a calendar year visually, and…
And this one is mine! I view my calendar as a squished oval with summer and winter towards the more narrow ends. Which doesn’t quite work with how winter ACTUALLY is because it pretty much last six months here…
Do you ever think you'll stop drawing fanart? No offense it just seems like the kind of thing you're supposed to grow out of. I'm just curious what your plans/goals are since it isn't exactly an art form that people take seriously.
Ah, fanart. Also known as the art that girls make.
Sad, immature girls no one takes seriously. Girls who are taught that it’s shameful to be excited or passionate about anything, that it’s pathetic to gush about what attracts them, that it’s wrong to be a geek, that they should feel embarrassed about having a crush, that they’re not allowed to gaze or stare or wish or desire. Girls who need to grow out of it.
That’s the art you mean, right?
Because in my experience, when grown men make it, nobody calls it fanart. They just call it art. And everyone takes it very seriously.
Hey Korra Nation! Phew. Some of you may have heard versions of this news elsewhere, but here’s the official word. After this Friday’s on-air premiere of Episode 8 “The Terror Within” at 8/7c, all remaining Book 3 episodes will move to a digital rollout. That means two things: 1) Korra is NOT…
